Embryology Experts gather in Valencia to study the SafeSpeed system

VALENCIAECONÓMICA.- Unit Human Reproduction Maternal Child area of Valencia General Hospital held a meeting of experts to study new system for vitrification-devitrification of gametes and embryos called SafeSpeed. This system was developed by the spin off of the University of Seville SafePreservation and tested by the team Ginemed Foundation for a period of three years.

This system was already presented at the 30th Meeting of the European Society Reproduction and Embryology, held in Munich recently and given the success among professionals, the Ginemed Foundation has launched a training program for all professionals in Spain a circuit starts in Valencia General Hospital for their expertise and for being the only Spanish center with the MIRI TL technology that allows, among other things of interest, embryo culture under excellent conditions.

The beneficiaries of this program are biologists, embryologists, biotechnologists, gynecology, andrology and other professionals engaged in cryopreservation specifically to closed systems.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide attendees with theoretical knowledge in order to develop the technical skills needed to perform optimal gamete and embryo vitrification with the SafeSpeed system.

SafeSpeed is a system which is composed of a polycarbonate capillary ultrafine where samples for cryopreservation straw attached to a protective cap with a sliding load. This design, hermetically sealed at both ends, has been designed with the philosophy of the ramp not only optimize cooling the overheating but which has greater impact on the survival of biological vitrification process and do samples on a support closed for it and avoid contact with liquid nitrogen which dip to freezing as explained Irene Cuevas, embryologist General of Valencia.

The program has been configured with a theoretical and practical mode also allows the discussion in the classroom, participating in laboratory with individual practices to better understand the use of the technique.

The General Hospital of Valencia and maintains not only a commitment to their patients for the purposes of promoting technological renewal but also pointed -HA Juan Gilabert, head of Maternal Children- area a bid to be training center technologies more dropouts.

SafePreservation together with Ginemed in Munich

The system has already obtained the patent brand and after three years of Ginemed clinical trials, has been shown to improve survival rates and fertility.
The spin-off of the University of Seville SafePreservation presented this week at the 30th Meeting of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE)  in Munich , a new system of cryopreservation improves survival rates and fertility of gametes and embryos after the passage of the years compared to other closed systems.
This is a new closed device, which means that the solution containing the gamete or embryo is hermetically sealed at both during the freezing process, and during the years of preservation, and at the time of thawing.
SafeSpeed is the result of research carried out by the spin-off of the University of Seville SafePreservation, for over ten years and has been proven through various clinical trials for three years.
In this process, accompanied them Ginemed, who after appropriate tests have concluded that the new method surpasses the previous closed system in terms of survival rates of oocytes, sperm, embryos and bastocistos and their ability to fertilization.
Unlike traditional semi-open device, SafePreservation provides extra secure preservation of gametes, eliminating direct contact with liquid nitrogen that keeps -196 º, and eliminating the risk of contamination.
In countries like France, closed cryopreservation straws are the official system and it is expected that Europe dictating implant soon about a new European regulations.
Recall that the ESHRE is the international meeting of experts in Assisted Reproduction largest in Europe and in which Ginemed been present since the beginning, combining medical and research assistance, which has positioned them as a reference center in the implementation the latest techniques in Assisted Reproduction in Spain.

Ginemed Interwied about SafeSpeed Technique

The SER program “Today” echoes the new development of the University and  Ginemed
The SER program “Hoy por Hoy”  met Dr. Pascual Sanchez Ginemed medical director, to discuss the new development at the University of Seville and Ginemed.
A new system of closed cryopreservation improves survival rates and fertility of gametes and embryos after the passage of the years compared to other closed systems. After its presentation at the 2014 ESHRE centers outside Spain and Spain have been interested by the new system.

SafePreservation participated in ESHRE-2014

The start-up of the University of Seville SafePreservation presented at the 30th Meeting of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) meeting in Munich, a new system of cryopreservation that improves survival rates and fertility of gametes and embryos after the passage of the years compared to other closed systems. In a statement it was announced that “this is a new straw heat sealed at both ends, which means that the solution containing the gamete or embryo is hermetically sealed during the freezing process, and during the years of preservation, and the thawing time “.

The technique called SafeSpeed is “the result of research conducted by the start-up of University of Seville SafePreservation for over ten years and has been proven through various clinical trials for three years.” In this process, accompanied them specialized in Assisted Reproduction Ginemed who, after appropriate tests have concluded that “the new procedure surpasses the previous closed system in terms of survival rates of oocytes, sperm health team, bastocistos and embryos and their fertilizing capacity. “Unlike traditional semi-open straws, SafePreservation provides “an additional secure preservation of gametes, eliminating direct contact with liquid nitrogen that keeps -196, and eliminating the risk of contamination.” In countries like France, closed cryopreservation straws are the official system and it is expected that Europe dictating implant soon about a new European regulations.
